As the Owner/Director of Doula Care, Ruth Callahan CLC, PCD (DONA), with her clinical lactation training at Beth Israel Hospital, a certified postpartum doula lactation counselor, is highly selective in choosing postpartum doulas to work through the service.

Owner/Director Ruth has an outstanding group of postpartum doulas certified by DONA, CAPPA, specialists in newborn care, and trained lactation counselors. Doula Care offers only the most dependable and experienced doulas for first-time families and an extra pair of hands for growing families and older siblings.

The doulas complete training in maternal and infant care, lactation support, infant massage, infant development, care of multiples, postpartum mood disorder, family transitions, promoting family bonding, and babywearing.

Doulas affiliated with Doula Care, regularly attend continuing education workshops on postpartum, birth, transition to parenthood, and lactation. In addition, we prioritize staying up-to-date on current evidence-based studies.
